Privacy & data

This page explains how the Tiento Quote product handles the files and data workshop accounts upload, and what this marketing site collects. It is an informational notice for the invite-only beta and will be refined as the product matures; it is not a substitute for the agreement a workshop signs with us where one exists.

Who operates Tiento

Tiento Quote is operated by David Sánchez Wells (Wells Global Solutions). For any privacy, data, confidentiality, or security question — about the product or this site — contact david@wellsglobal.eu.

Product data: uploaded CAD files and quote data

Workshop accounts in the Tiento Quote application upload 3D models (STEP files) and enter quoting data: materials, tolerances, quantities, customer references, historical job prices used for calibration, and similar manufacturing data. We treat all of it as confidential business data belonging to your workshop.

Why we process it. Uploaded models and quote inputs are processed to generate quote drafts: geometric feature detection, a 3D preview, manufacturability review notes, price estimation, quote history, and PDF export. We also use operational logs and audit records to support you, debug problems, and keep the service secure. We do not sell this data and we do not use one workshop's files or prices to generate another workshop's quotes.

What is stored. The uploaded STEP file itself is a transient processing input: it is held while analysis of that upload is queued or running and is cleared when the analysis finishes, fails, or times out. What the product keeps afterwards is derived, account-scoped data: detected geometry and features, a generated preview mesh, part metadata, your quote inputs and quote history, and audit records of account activity. If you need the original CAD file again, you re-upload it.

Account separation. Product data is scoped to your workshop account in the application and in the database, and access requires authentication. Parts, quotes, calibration data, and quote history are not shared across accounts.

Retention during beta. Derived part and quote data is retained while your account is active so your quote history keeps working. Untouched empty quote drafts are cleaned up automatically after a few days. Exact retention windows for backups and audit records are still being finalised during the beta — ask us if you need a specific commitment before uploading something.

Deletion and export. You can delete uploaded parts from your library inside the product. For account-level deletion or an export of your data, email david@wellsglobal.eu and we will confirm the scope and timing with you. Security audit records may be retained after deletion where they are needed for service integrity.

Where it runs. The product currently runs on EU-region infrastructure: application hosting and CAD processing on Render (Frankfurt), the database on Neon (EU), and the web frontend on Vercel. Optional product analytics use PostHog (EU) with masked inputs, no CAD canvas capture, and an internal account key instead of your name or email.

Beta limitations. Tiento Quote is an invite-only beta. Manufacturability (DFM) notes are experimental review guidance only, and quote outputs are draft estimates — see the beta terms for what the product does and does not promise during this phase.

This marketing site: analytics and session replay

We use PostHog to understand page visits, demo intent, and usability issues on this site. PostHog only starts after you explicitly accept analytics.

Once accepted, PostHog stores a browser identifier in local storage so page views and other analytics events remain associated with the same browser across reloads and visits.

We also use session replay after consent so we can review how visitors use the site. Replay is configured with masked form inputs. We do not intentionally capture the contents of contact form fields as event properties.

This marketing site: cookies and local storage

This site uses browser storage for analytics consent and, if you accept, for PostHog's persistent analytics identifier. Without your consent, analytics and session replay do not start.

You can reopen the privacy settings button shown on the site at any time to change your choice. If you withdraw consent, analytics stops and the stored PostHog identity is reset in your browser.

This marketing site: contact form submissions

Demo requests submitted through the contact form are handled by Formspree and forwarded to the site operator by email. The information you enter is used only to respond to your request and continue the conversation you started.

If you prefer not to use the form, you can always write directly to david@wellsglobal.eu.
